More than 100 delegates gathered at Maroochydore CBD on July 3, travelling from Germany, Singapore, Hong Kong, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and across the Sunshine Coast to attend an exclusive tech event.
Sunshine Coast Council’s sold-out 'Testing Tech in Paradise’ event showcased opportunities for business collaboration and investment across sectors including space, smart city applications, cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection and advanced manufacturing.
This event was the second in a series focused on inspiring technology-driven industries to test and trial new tech in a real-world environment on the Sunshine Coast.

Big Pineapple Festival returns
After a three-year self-imposed hiatus, the Sunshine Coast multi-award winning Big Pineapple Festival returns on Saturday, 19 October 2024, ready to deliver an unforgettable day of live music, delicious food and vibrant experiences.
Presented by triple j and sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council, the festival is set against the picturesque backdrop of the Pineapple Fields in Woombye.
This year’s festival promises to be the juiciest yet, featuring an Australian lineup and plenty of other surprises in store.

Australian Deaf Games
Friday marked the "Two Years to Go" milestone for the 2026 Australian Deaf Games to be staged on the Sunshine Coast for the first time.
From July 4-11 2026, the region will welcome over 1200 athletes, officials, volunteers, as well as visitors from across the country to compete in 16 medal and four demonstration sports.
Local support is already building with the Caloundra RSL on board as Principal Games Venue Sponsor.
There's capacity building opportunities for all local businesses over the next two years including AUSLAN training to allow traders and their staff to be highly engaged with the athletes and their supporters.

Circular Economy Investment Program now open
Funding of up to $750,000 is available for projects that introduce new, or transition to, circular economy business models or practices.
The Queensland Government is investing a total of $5 million in the Circular Economy Investment Program to inspire a transition to a system of waste minimisation and avoidance, and retaining resources in circulation at their highest value for as long as possible.
This is an exciting opportunity for businesses and industries to emerge and bring innovative ideas to life.
