Big congratulations to the stars of our business community at the 29th annual Sunshine Coast Business Awards!
Advanced Aquarium Technologies (AAT) was crowned as Business of the Year. AAT also took out the awards for Export and Building and Construction (large business). They design, build and operate major public aquariums worldwide and are recognised as a leader in the public aquarium development industry with projects completed in UAE, Asia, Europe, America, New Zealand and Australia.
The night was filled with entertainment and excitement with around 850 attendees recognising the 130 finalists from 239 entries as 38 trophies were awarded.

If you are a chef, food producer, tourism operator, venue manager, restaurant owner or can offer an agri-tourism experience, then you are invited to add some extra flavour to one of the Sunshine Coast’s most prominent events - The Curated Plate.
This award-winning festival supported by FAN and VSC helps create a unique culinary journey across the Sunshine Coast from July 25 to August 3 next year, and celebrates local produce, talent, collaboration, food and drink all with the stunning backdrop of our breathtaking natural landscapes.
The 2024 event attracted more than 7,000 attendees to 85 events thanks to local businesses, producers and venues who participated in the region-wide culinary showcase.

Help shape two active transport corridors
|
If you walk, ride or scoot, now’s the time to have your say to help shape two major active transport corridors on the Sunshine Coast.
Sunshine Coast Council is planning to deliver safe and inclusive active transport corridors, for people walking, riding bikes and using personal mobility devices including e-scooters.
The two corridors will improve the active transport network connecting Mooloolaba to the University of the Sunshine Coast, and Caloundra to Currimundi.
Council is inviting community input to understand safety issues and opportunities along these two routes.

The Screen Summit 2024 received overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees and Screen Collective members, who voiced strong support for continuing this annual event.
The enthusiasm highlighted the Summit's value in fostering industry growth and collaboration on the Sunshine Coast.
The panel discussion, Offset Impact, was a standout session, blending insightful commentary from the speakers providing an understanding on how the offset programmes benefit and grow the screen industry and local economies with audience interaction.
This event has been proudly supported by Sunshine Coast Council since its inception in 2022.

The Thriving Through Change Business Expo, held at Maroochy RSL on October 29, attracted almost 300 people from across the region.
The event gathered entrepreneurs, small businesses of every type, government bodies, chambers of commerce leaders and industry groups, underscoring the expo’s growing reputation as a must-attend event for business people.
Hosted by Sunshine Coast Council, it featured masterclasses, an exhibition of 36 local support agencies and a keynote address by CEO and Founder of Circle Leadership Global, Dave Clare.

Council's fourth annual First Nations Supplier Day helped showcase the diversity of local businesses in our region.
100 people including 25 local First Nations businesses, industry representatives and local buyers attended for a networking and expo afternoon on Kabi Kabi Country.
The expo showcased local businesses and their amazing products and services across industries including IT, manufacturing, labour hire, arts, cosmetics, cultural services, photography, electrical services and food and beverage.
