4-hour free parking at PARKnGO Mooloolaba
|
To enhance the experience for visitors and our community, and support Mooloolaba businesses during the Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation Project construction period, Council is offering the first four hours of undercover parking free at the PARKnGO Mooloolaba Central which is conveniently located less than 300 metres to the foreshore.
Starting on January 28, the free parking period at PARKnGO Mooloolaba Central will be extended from one hour to now four hours FREE parking.
The free parking initiative is linked to construction timing of Stage 2 Central Meeting Place and the Southern Seawall stages.
All parking arrangements within the PARKnGO Mooloolaba Central will return to Council’s standard fees and charges arrangements once construction is complete.
Car park users staying longer than four hours will pay $5 per hour, capped at $20 per day.

Join celebration of local flavours

Renowned chef Peter Kuruvita is calling on local producers, chefs, restaurateurs and businesses to showcase their passion and talents in the 2025 edition of The Curated Plate.
The award-winning annual festival will run from July 25 to August 3, 2025, and includes a range of events across the Sunshine Coast region.
Each business or organisation manages their own individual event including logistics and ticket sales.
Participating in the program is free and all event organisers keep 100 per cent of the revenue from ticket sales.

34,000 new Jetstar seats in 2025
|
Jetstar has announced an additional 34,000 seats between the Sunshine Coast and Melbourne for 2025.
These new seats will uplift capacity by 14% between the two destinations compared to the same time in 2024.
The change is set to commence in March and will operate until June 2025 thanks to a combination of new flights and the use of the larger Airbus A321.
This announcement comes following the launch of new Jetstar services to Cairns and Auckland late last year with strong passenger demand for both services.

Young sport stars serve up a beach bonanza
|
The rising stars in one of Australia’s most exciting sports will soon be showcasing their talents on the Sunshine Coast – and delivering a spike in profits for local businesses.
The sand will fly as the nation’s best U19 and U21 beach volleyballers converge at Bulcock Beach, Caloundra, on January 23 and 24. Spectators are welcome and are sure to be treated to a spectacular display of spikes, rallies, digs, blocks and bumps.
The Australian Junior Beach Volleyball Tour, hosted by Volleyball Australia and being supported by Sunshine Coast Council, is the premier domestic event for junior beach volleyball athletes, bridging the gap between the youth and the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour. The Queensland Open Beach Volleyball follows on January 25-27, and is the highest level of beach volleyball in the state with The Queensland Open being the pinnacle event for over 30 years.
