Global flavour leader McCormick champions sustainability
|
McCormick has officially opened its upgraded sustainability-focused facility at its Palmwoods site, making a major step forward in reducing waste while supporting the global growth of its Gourmet Garden brand.
The state-of-the-art trade waste treatment facility was unveiled on Friday after seven months of construction, reinforcing Gourmet Garden’s commitment to long-term operational excellence and sustainable growth.
The upgraded facility is estimated to realise about AU$27.93 million in total economic impact in the Sunshine Coast region, and create about 90 local jobs, directly and indirectly.

Luxury hotel gains approval
|
A bold initiative by Sunshine Coast Council to attract more luxury hotels to the region has made a successful start with the approval of an exciting hotel project - complete with rooftop bar - in the heart of Caloundra.
The project is intended to comprise of shops and cafes at Ground Level, restaurant and hotel amenities on Level 1, 160 suites over Levels 2-10 and a rooftop restaurant and bar with outdoor dining and function rooms on Level 11.
Located at 51-55 Bulcock Street, it is the first development application approved under the Sunshine Coast Accommodation Hotel Incentives Package.

Drop-in sessions to help get grant ready

Council’s next round of major funding for local, not-for-profit community groups is coming up in July.
If you and your community group haven’t applied for Council funding before and don’t know how to start, Council’s Grants Team runs drop-in Q&A sessions at local libraries, as well as grant writing workshops.
Those groups that have applied previously and missed out, are encouraged to reapply.

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show will return from June 13–15 at the Nambour Showgrounds, promising three unforgettable days of family fun, entertainment and community celebration.

Gardening comes alive in 2025

Queensland Garden Show is a ‘must see’ in 2025 for green thumbs and novice gardeners alike.
Held in our Sunshine Coast hinterland town of Nambour from July 11 to 13, this three-day show is Queensland’s premier gardening event and will showcase the biggest range of plants (60k+) likely to been seen in one location anywhere in Queensland.
Some of Australia’s leading gardening experts will take part in more than 100 free talks, demonstrations, and workshops.
