Council urges State election parties to commit
Earlier this week Council were proud to come together with key industry partners to call for region-boosting action from the next State Government. Council has developed a small number of core commitments we are seeking at the 2024 Queensland State Government election. Some of the commitments include more efficient, accessible and reliable public transport, easing traffic congestion, investment in innovation and social housing support.
From an industry perspective, Council is seeking a commitment from the Queensland Government of
$25 million to deliver the Sunshine Coast Innovation Hub and upgraded University Innovation Centre, $6.5 million to activate the TURBINE project, $5.2 million combined operational and capital funding for the Manufacturing Excellence Forum and $5 million funding to support the delivery of NEO Project on the Sunshine Coast.
The Sunshine Coast Council 2024 State Election Advocacy Priorities document can be found on Council’s website.
The Queensland Government is set to meet on the Sunshine Coast for Community Cabinet on Wednesday August 7, where local groups and individuals are encouraged to register to meet a Minister.
