FREE Disaster Resilience Forum 

In the lead up to this year’s Get Ready Week (9-15 October), Visit Sunshine Coast is holding a Disaster Resilience Forum for tourism operators on Wednesday 4 October.

The forum is designed to help you get back to business sooner following a natural disaster or crisis.

The forum will run through key steps to prepare, respond, recover and communicate when disasters strike.

After hundreds of hours of judging, the finalists’ results are in for the 2023 Sunshine Coast Business Awards!

137 finalists across 16 different categories now move to the next stage of the judging process and the winners will be announced on 11 November.

Oly Homes Builds On Major Opportunities


Oly Homes is staying ahead of the game with the unveiling of a new seven-star energy efficient modular home and expanded facilities.

Oly Homes' expanded facilities in Yandina will add almost $18 million in economic impact over the next years and provide nearly 50 new jobs.

Operating on the Sunshine Coast for 52 years, the family-owned company is also about to roll out its 2000th home and has expanded its footprint across Queensland.

Mooloolaba Foreshore Update

Following completion of the award-winning Mooloolaba Foreshore Revitalisation Northern Parklands, the detailed design for Stage 2 – the Central Meeting Place and Southern Parkland seawall – has now been finalised.

Council has called for expressions of interest to construct the new parkland - which received overwhelming community support during recent consultation - and to replace a seawall that dates back to the 1960s.

Once a contractor is appointed, the timeline will be determined and early works could begin next year.
