Lift-off For Flying Taxis Project

Commuters could be catching a taxi in the sky from the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane by 2030, if a new student project goes to plan.

Experts, industry leaders, high school and university students have joined forces at the University of the Sunshine Coast, to take their ideas for an electric vertical take-off and landing vehicle (eVTOL) sky high.

CCTU Upgrade

The project footprint for the Caloundra Transport Corridor Upgrade (CTCU) has been confirmed.

The project footprint includes a new intersection with Nicklin Way by extending Third Avenue. The new intersection and road corridor is designed to meet the forecast traffic demand at opening in 2025/26 and over the next 10 years, to cater for our growing population, business and tourism.

Fresh Meats Perseveres

Local wholesale and retail butcher Fresh Meats was overwhelmed by the support of the local community when their truck with approximately $10,000 worth of meat was stolen from Mooloolaba Wharf recenlty.

Despite the major setback, the dedicated team still made each of their orders for the day with strong resilience and determination.
