Golden Beach foreshore works: TS Onslow

Thanks for subscribing to receive updates on the action we're taking at Golden Beach – including temporary works – to protect our coastline and coastal communities from the impacts of climate change.

Works are progressing well as we partner with the Queensland Government to construct a new seawall to protect the foreshore from Nelson Street to the TS Onslow Naval Cadets site in southern Golden Beach.

In short

  • Oversize vehicles will remove the large piling rig on Friday 8 August and the crane on Monday 11 August 2025.
  • Please do not park your car on the Esplanade between Nelson Street and Onslow Street on these days between midnight and 6am.

Early morning equipment removal

The project required a large piling rig and crane to be onsite for structural concrete works.

With the piling works coming to an end by the middle of this week, we are once again required to bring in a float to demobilise the piling rig and crane.

These pieces of equipment will be removed early from site by an “Oversize” vehicle this Friday 8 August (the piling rig) and next Monday 11 August (the crane).

The trailer (see example below) is approximately 16 metres long with the prime mover being 6 metres - so the overall length of the transport vehicle is 22 metres.

Please do not park your car on the Esplanade this Friday or next Monday

There will be some noise disruption between 2am and 6am on the morning of these days as the team loads the machines.

We apologise in advance for any inconvenience, however due to road regulations these are the only times which allow for delivery of this type of equipment.

Please do not park your car on the Esplanade between Nelson Street and Onslow Street on Friday 8 August or Monday 11 August between midnight and 6am.

Thank you for your understanding as we ensure the safety of our workers, our community and road users.
