Adoption and Commencement of Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme 2014 (Major Amendment) No. 20 – Site Specific and Operational Matters

Council adopted the Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme 2014 (Major Amendment) No. 20 – Site Specific and Operational Matters on 1 November 2019.

The purpose of this amendment is to:
  • amend the zoning, overlays, precincts and/or planning scheme provisions relating to a number of specific sites, in order to:
  • better reflect existing or desired future land uses;
  • respond to Council land acquisitions and property-related matters; and
  • respond to identified mapping anomalies;
  • amend the zone and the Height of buildings and structures overlay for a number of specific sites for Educational establishments, Retirement facilities and Residential care facilities;
  • amend the building height increments (rationalisation of increments) within the Height of buildings and structures overlay; and
  • address other operational matters to improve the clarity and efficiency of the planning scheme, including matters relating to caravan parks and camping grounds, caravan and boat storage uses, animal husbandry in the Limited development (landscape residential) zone, car hire businesses in certain industrial zones, dwelling houses (including secondary dwellings), dual occupancies, reconfiguring a lot, residential densities, small residential lots, community activities, residential care and retirement facilities, rural activities and building height exemptions for certain rural, public utility and industrial uses.

The amendment took effect on and from 11 November 2019.
