Consultation open 15 April - 12 May 2025

Coolum Connections

Sunshine Coast Council is enhancing the connection between Coolum’s foreshore and Jack Morgan Park with charming streetscape improvements to help strengthen the local character and heart of Coolum.

The Coolum Connections project seeks to improve access to, and use of, important links between Coolum’s foreshore and main street, through to Jack Morgan Park.

This will include making it easier to find and access the Coolum Library and Civic Centre, located next to Jack Morgan Park.

Have your say

You can review the Draft Coolum Connections Ideas Plan and the Park Street Streetscape Refresh Plan below the survey on this page. Also read more about the background and timeline for the project.

Please share your feedback by filling out the short survey below by 5pm Monday 12 May 2025.
Council has received initial feedback from local community groups that has informed development of the Draft Coolum Connections Ideas Plan. (Please refer to images below the survey.)
The ideas are subject to further investigation, technical feasibility, and funding.
Q.3 Provide feedback on the Draft Coolum Connections Ideas Plan, and any other ideas you have for this area for future consideration.
The Park Street Streetscape Refresh will see streetscaping improvements in Park Street. The improvements will include artistic sandblasting in the new footpath surfaces. (Please refer to images below the survey.)
Any personal details and data acquired by Sunshine Coast Council from participation in any online services will be used only in accordance with Council’s Privacy Policy.

Community input

Building on Council’s previous streetscape and park improvement plans, including the Jack Morgan Park Master Plan (2015) and Coolum Village Centre Landscape Master Plan (2010), the Draft Coolum Connections Ideas Plan will inform future improvement of the area. It will address ‘missing links’ and elements not captured in existing plans.

Local community organisations and businesses have provided input to the Draft Ideas Plan, and provided feedback on elements that we should deliver within the current budget.

Park Street has been identified as a key priority for improvement.

Improvements to come

  • A refreshed band of pavement
  • New landscaped areas with:
  • native and coastal planting
  • seating nooks
  • improved street trees with irrigation
  • Renewed street lighting with overhead festoon lights
  • Wayfinding and directional signage
  • Added shade trees in Jack Morgan Park.
As part of the improvements, the new concrete pavement will be etched with a distinctive Coolum pattern. We are seeking your input on the artwork style.
