Little Mountain Common skate park renewal

Have your say surveys: preferred location and features

Sunshine Coast Council recognises the importance of providing healthy and active opportunities in our region. We are investigating renewal options for the existing skate facility located at Little Mountain Common.

Thank you for your feedback late last year on the future of the skate park. We received 135 responses, and your input has been valuable in shaping the future direction of the park.

Feedback on relocating the skate park was very close. While 57 per cent of respondents supported the general investigation area, 56 per cent did not support the relocation at all.

We have considered your feedback and refined the investigation area to two key locations that best reflect the priorities shared by the community.

Please have your say in the surveys below the map, on your preferred location and elements for the renewed skate park. The surveys are open until 31 August 2025.
Landscape Plan: Little Mountain Common skate park
Location A key considerations
  • Maintains current level of separation from younger park users and nearby homes, keeping a similar setup to the current park.
  • More room for future expansion with additional functions without affecting existing park features.
  • Improved flood resilience by raising the area to road level, making it more usable in wet weather and easier to access.
  • Formal pedestrian crossing point to be investigated as part of option A to better connect both sides of the park.
  • Future car parking could be added on this side of the road if required.
Location B key considerations
  • Closer to existing park facilities, improving connectivity but also placing it nearer to younger children and nearby homes—this would need careful management.
  • Existing drainage and flooding issues would need to be resolved in this location to avoid affecting current park features.
  • Keeps all main park features on one side of the road, making it easier for parents to supervise children of different ages.
  • Additional planting could help reduce the impact on nearby homes due to the skate park’s closer location.
  • Less space for future additions, but it’s the most connected to current park amenities.

There are two surveys open below. Please complete the survey/s that best apply to you.
  1. Survey One - open to all members of the community. Select the best location for the upgraded skate park.
  2. Survey Two - designed specifically for skate park users. This will help guide the planning and design of the skate park itself including the preferred style and key elements to include.
If you submit the first survey and want to also fill out the second survey, please return to this page to do so.

The surveys are open until 31 August 2025.
The surveys used on this Have Your Say page are not anonymous, as the data is linked to your email address. Council will be using the information provided solely to inform the design to determine preferred location and elements for the renewed skate park.

For further information on how Council will manage your personal information, please refer to scc.qld.gov.au/privacy.
