Landslip repair - First Bay, Coolum

Dear community members,

Thank you for subscribing to project updates on the landslip repair works at First Bay, Coolum.

Final phase of works

We are pleased to announce we’re starting the final phase of repair works to stabilise and strengthen the landslip at First Bay, Coolum.

Various elements will be delivered progressively over the coming weeks, with completion expected by the end of March 2026 (weather permitting).

Upcoming night works

A limited amount of night works will occur from 6pm to 6am to ensure the safety of pedestrians, road users, and workers on site:
  • Thursday 19 March
  • Sunday 22 March to Thursday 26 March
  • Sunday 29 March.
No night works will occur on Friday 20, Saturday 21, Friday 27 or Saturday 28 March.

Due to the nature of the works and machinery operation, nearby residents and visitors may experience some noise and vibration. All care will be taken to minimise disruption as much as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while these repairs are delivered safely and effectively.

Important safety advice for motorists

  • Be prepared to stop: Be ready to stop if needed.
  • Look out for roadworkers or pedestrians: Roadworkers or pedestrians may be above, below, or beside the road, or just outside your field of vision.
  • Move into the correct lane: Move into the correct lane as soon as possible.
  • Drive carefully: Drive very carefully and be aware of your surroundings.
  • Follow all signage: Follow all roadwork signage, even if you can't see anyone working on the road.
